I have been always taught, just having theoretical knowledge is not enough to be a successful individual down the road. What surprised me, even more, was the fact that, implementing that knowledge practically is also not sufficient. It needs more to acquire to individual success. It’s not that, we should avoid those things, but what determines our success is the following 5 soft skills:
5 soft skills for Individual Success
#1 – Communication Skill
Aside from diversity of different languages, spoken all around the world, one must have good communication skill. Communication skill does not imply that you need to learn or communicate in a certain language, rather it refers to your ability to involve and blend in among the people, and make people around you feel comfortable. Even a tiny gesture of handshake can be regarded as a communication skill. How you put the handshake forward and how you approach will certainly make a bigger impact and impression.

#2 – Body Language
It’s not that hard thing to do, but it’s one of the most under looked thing by many. We have our individual habits of being in a certain posture, may be something different that we do with our hand while talking; whatever it may be, it can either offend or welcome the person we’re talking to. There are many ways and some key points, we need to take into consideration, especially when we’re entering professional life. Basics traits, however, include, smile on your face, frankness in your words and much polite, bold and to the point tone in your voice.

#3 – Unbiased Opinions
No matter even if it costs your new job, you need to open up for what you feel is wrong. Most of the times, people fear the feedback they might get, and suppress what’s needed to be addressed. Sometimes, in some situations, it is wise to be quiet and lay low, but often times, even the boss always wants to hear someone say , “Otherwise”.
You’re courage to speak out such opinions not only reflects on your persona, but it separates you from that flattery self-centred mass of people and makes you stand out from the crowd, even in the eyes of your appreciated boss. Individual success cannot be clinched by such means.
#4 – 3 C’s- Choice, Change and Concentrate
Let’s be honest here, we’re all humans and we are a box filled with mistakes. No one is perfect. But with each mistake we do, comes an opportunity to learn. We get open to much-needed experience, which teaches us the valuable lessons. From there, however, where your life drifts is entirely on your hands. Thus, one must keep the potential to make the right choice, change accordingly and concentrate on improving. They are the 3C’s that will drive you into the right path of success.
#5 – Attitude
Attitude can be regarded as a part of body language, I talked about earlier. But it much deeper sense, it is entirely different. Respect, gratitude, thankfulness, kindness, politeness, disciplined; they’re all the traits of the positive attitude. Irritative, anger, unpunctual, rude tone; they’re all nothing but bad attitude. It’s pretty much clear, which to choose and adapt to. One’s attitude may or may not give you success on a job, but will certainly earn you success in building good relation with the people around you; which is the most vital factor of any success.
So just don’t jump into big directly if you are planning big. Go step-by-step and focus on the soft skills that you must acquire before stepping into valuable and productive. This will generate your capability resulting your individual success and personality development.
